At the end of June 2024, a batch of goods such as home appliances, tires and auto parts destined for Kazakhstan via Jiangsu Lianyungang China-Europe Express arrived at their destination smoothly. On July 2, ferroalloys produced by Kazakhstan also arrived in Lianyungang via the China-Europe freight train and were subsequently sent to Southeast Asia by sea, demonstrating the advantages of Lianyungang as an international hub.
Last September, the China-Europe Railway Express International Cooperation Forum was successfully held in Lianyungang, further strengthening the industrial chain and supply chain connectivity of countries and regions along the Belt and Road. Up to now, Lianyungang China-Europe Express has covered five Central Asian countries as well as Central Europe, China and Mongolia, China and Russia, and China and Turkey (across the Caspian Sea). In the first six months of this year,a total of 366 trains were operated, an increase of 24.5 percent year-on-year.
The Yangtze River Delta region has also seen a boom in China-Europe freight trains, with 2,538 trains running in the first half of this year, up 12.8 percent year-on-year. Since the launch of its first train in 2013, the Yangtze River Delta China-Europe Express has gradually developed into an important economic and trade bridge connecting China with Europe and Asia, promoting high-quality regional economic development.
Especially since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the number, frequency and cargo types of China-Europe Express trains in the Yangtze River Delta have shown continuous growth. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 25,000 China-Europe Express trains have been launched in the Yangtze River Delta, carrying 4.684 million TEUs of goods, injecting new impetus into the regional economy and ensuring the stability of the international industrial chainand supply chain.
Relevant enterprises and departments have continuously innovated their operation models to improve the operation efficiency and service quality of China-Europe Express trains. Nanjing Customs launched the "fast customs clearance" mode, which significantly improved the customs clearance efficiency and reduced the transportation cost of enterprises.
